We envisioned a space where everything comes together. Where locals can gather, visitors can feel welcomed, and everyone can discover something special. Historically, a mercantile was more than just a store. It was the center of community life - a place to meet your neighbors, share stories, pick up what you needed, and often find something you didn’t even know you were looking for.

Welcome to J. Danforth Mercantile, where creativity and community blend seamlessly. I’m Krysti Franklin, the visionary owner whose passion for design and love for Maryville, Tennessee drive every aspect of my business. With a background in design and merchandising, I’ve always had a keen eye for aesthetics and a heart for bringing people together.

As a mother of five, my dream of starting a mercantile was nurtured through the years while raising my children. With my youngest graduating high school in May of 2023, it was finally time to bring my long-held vision to life. The result is a space where my creativity flourishes and our town gathers to celebrate community and collaboration.
